Great Smoky Mountain National Park is my favorite park in the system. Maybe because since I was just a young thing I have been going there. So when I picked up my camera for the first time and wanted to be a nature photographer I naturally pointed the car in its direction. Plus it was the closest park to me near Chicago. I started shooting just black & white images with a 35mm camera, moved to 4x5 and then 2 ¼ in both color and B&W before realizing I really love 35mm. So for close tor 50 years I have been going to this place to shoot and recharge. The results are now in the award winning book Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Five Decades of American Landscapes.
